St George in Bloom were entering the scheme for the first time in the ‘Town to City Pennant’ category and were delighted to come away with a GOLD pennant. This is a significant achievement and something that everyone in St George should be proud of. Other gold awards in this category went to our neighbours in Greater Fishponds, Clifton, Taunton, Wells and Yate & Donnington. The St George in Bloom committee led by Grenville Johnson put in a great deal of work to organise the entry and it is wonderful that this work has been rewarded.

St George in Bloom aims to involve the whole community – residents, community groups, schools and local businesses.

Park InsuranceSt George in Bloom’s main sponsor is Church Road based Park Insurance – a big thank you to Steve for his support. Thank you also to the other St George in Bloom sponsors Vinyl Graphics, Ivy House Therapies and Red Flower Barrow.

The award will be celebrated at St George in Bloom’s own awards ceremony next week which will be attended by Bristol’s Deputy Lord Mayor. More information about St George in Bloom can be found on their website at www.stgeorgeinbloom.org.uk.
