A message from Grenville Johnson, Chair of St George in Bloom.

Calling all shops, residents, streets and communities in St George to brighten up our area of the city!

St George in Bloom invites businesses, community groups and residents in the area to brighten up their gardens and help keep the local streets clean and tidy.

Categories in our St George in Bloom 2016 competition include:
• Large front garden
• Small front garden
• House frontage only – hanging basket, window box or containers
• Best Wildlife Friendly Garden
• Best business and commercial premises
• Best forgotten Corner or community open space that was previously neglected.
• Best ‘Blooming’ Pub

Displays are also being encouraged to attract pollinating insects as part of Get St George Buzzing 2016 in collaboration with Bristol University’s Urban Pollinators project.

Please help to make St George look really colourful and spectacular this year.

This year St George in Bloom was selected to take part in the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Britain in Bloom UK Finals 2016.
We will represent Bristol and the South West region in the Urban category.

We hope you will enter our competition, and the results will be announced at our special awards ceremony.
The date and venue of the ceremony will be announced later in the year.

With thanks for your kind support, and we look forward to receiving your application.
